Why we don't do Black Friday - and our positive alternative
For many thrifty shoppers, Black Friday is a chance to save money on much-needed purchases.
However, we are concerned that the rampant commercialism of Black Friday can drive many people to buy things they don't really need and possibly can't afford.
In the meantime, there are many families in the UK who are struggling to buy the bare essentials.
So, instead of adding lots of Black Friday deals to our website, we are asking our customers to consider using their spare cash to buy our Food Bank Vouchers.
The money received from the sale of these vouchers is used to fund the supply of our food products (at cost) to local Food Banks.
During the Black Friday season, we will match the value of the donations we receive, which will double the amount of food we can donate.
