Charity Christmas and Easter cards are a great way for ethical shoppers to redirect a percentage of their spending to causes they care about. Producing and selling our own range of charity cards also helps us fulfil our goal to make trade fairer for everyone.
This year (2024) our charity cards are supporting Mercy Ships UK. They have been operating effectively for many years and have carried out life-changing medical and dental procedures for huge numbers of people, mostly in Africa.
As well as having to deal with the effects of climate change, unfair trading practices and the challenges of running their farms and production facilities, many people in the Global South find themselves robbed of their livelihoods by relatively minor medical conditions.
Access to medical care is something we take for granted in the wealthy West but it can be incredibly difficult for people in sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere to get the treatment they need . This puts huge pressure on the families and communities that depend on them.
Using their two floating hospital ships, Mercy Ships are able to bring vital medical care within range of the people that so desperately need it. Their charitable work is another strand in the quest to bring sustenance, dignity and self-sufficiency to millions of people who do not have the advantages that we do.
We are delighted to partner with Mercy Ships UK with our Charity cards. Buy them here
