Mango Smoothie with spicy Mexican Chamoy sauce

Mango Smoothie - Serves 4 | Prep:10 min

Ingredients

  • 100g dried mango
  • 200g Hot Water
  • 750ml Almond Milk
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Cup Greek Yoghurt (Optional)

Method

  1. Soak dried mango in hot water until soft and pliable
  2. Blend mango (with soaking water) with the banana and almond milk
  3. Add Greek Yoghurt (if required) to thicken
  4. place in fridge to chill
  5. Decant into chilled glasses to serve

Chamoy Sauce Makes: 1 cup | Prep: 10 min | Soak: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 80g dried mango

  • 80g dried apricots (optional)

  • 1 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 150ml water

Method

  1. Soak dried mango (and apricots) in water for 1 hr.

  2. Blend with chili powder, lime juice, sugar, and soaking water until smooth.

  3. Chamoy sauce can be served with fresh fruit, tortilla chips, or grilled meats.
