The sweet one of the family. Om al-Fahem almonds are slow-roasted with Fairtrade sugar until each one is wrapped in a thin, glassy caramel shell. It shatters with a crunch before you get to the buttery almond inside.
More treat than snack, they work well:
- Over vanilla ice cream, Greek yoghurt or porridge
- Roughly crushed on a cake or a bowl of poached pears
- In a small dish with coffee, or tucked into a Christmas hamper
